In November 2009 _aux posted about program being developed to analyze audio and create notation, I was wanting to know if this was ever developed? I could not figure out how to send a private message so this is why I posted this.
There was created a prototype available for previous version of this forum with lots of usability issues and insufficient resources to fix all of them. At the moment it's not available for public use. If there ever appear enthusiasts to bring the project to production version, there'll be a chance for it to revive.
You could try this: http://chords.fm/ Or buy Band in a Box from PG Music, it can do the job. But both solutions are not perfect, although the help a lot.
I was just wondering if it was completed, something like that may be impossible, but as I watch my grandson get the xbox games and the graphics just keep getting better and better I think there must be a way to do this. I'll just keep trying to grab a note at a time and do it that way. However, if anyone here has any transcriptions of Merle Travis that are not currently published on the web I try to find all of his I can. And how do you access the lick player that is supposed to be available on this forum.
@Volscoach: you can find all the liks on www.bopland.org (make yourself familiar with the help), you can also find licks in the forum. Whenever you see a notation just click on it and the 'widget' will reveal the player options below the notation.
Woops... Unfortunately Merle Travis's transcriptions are not in the Bopland DB, and the lick player is no longer available through this forum. Sorry to be the one who said it
